Aftercare
Microblading/COmbination brows/ombre brows Aftercare
Ok! So congratulations on your new brows(or the decision to check this page out with the intention of getting your brows done!) Our number one goal during healing is keeping your brows clean and free from infection! So anytime you want to touch them, wash your hands first!
Day 1-10: Wash your brows morning and night for 10 days !
Right when you get home from your appointment, wash eyebrows with a gentle cleanser, (one is provided in the kit you are sent home with after your first appointment) and warm water. Use your fingertips to apply the soap in one direction with the motion of your brow hairs. Do not rub or scrub, this is supposed to be a super gentle wash. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. I always recommend patting dry with a paper towel, they are lint free and clean every time! Repeat this process morning and night for 10 days. After that apply your aftercare balm(which is also in your aftercare kit that you get at the end of your appointment.) Below are the instructions for you to use the balm provided in your kit.
There are two different balms in the kits. They will both be applied for 10 days as well, with specific instructions as follows:
Black tube- This balm is meant for normal to dry skin types. You will apply a rice size amount of this balm for both brows combined. So one tiny rice size line to cover both of your brows! You will rub the balm in in the direction of your brow hairs, you will see that it spreads out very easily. With this balm, less is more! You will apply the balm morning and night after washing your brows, and you can apply it midday if needed. You will want to just make sure that when you are washing morning and night you feel like you are fully removing your previous application of the balm (without intense scrubbing). We do not want the balm to build up on your brows.
White tube- This balm is meant for sensitive or more oily skin. You will apply a rice size amount of this balm on each brow. So each brow gets a tiny rice sized line of balm. You will rub the balm in in the direction of the brow hairs. You will use this balm morning and night after washing your brows and midday if needed. Always make sure that when you wash morning and night that you are removing your previous application of the balm to prevent the balm from building up on your brows!
Avoid direct sun exposure for the next two weeks.
If you are outside make sure that you wear a hat and sunglasses. Not only will your skin be more sensitive to burn right after your tattoo, but the sun will have direct access to the pigment(prior to your skin healing over the pigment) and can change the color or your new brows and make them heal poorly.
After the two week time frame you will want to apply sunscreen for the life of your brows. It will not only help you protect your investment and make them last longer, but it will also make sure that over time the sun does not change the color of the pigment under your skin. If you are outside all day, one application of sunscreen in the morning is not enough! We want to reapply sunscreen throughout the day! Treat those brows like a newborn babies skin!
Avoid all makeup, lotion, face wash, shampoo, conditioner ETC on brows and forehead for 2 weeks
The reason why we want to avoid all products(besides your aftercare products) on your brows and forehead for the next two weeks is to ensure we not only keep out all possible forms of bacterial contamination, but to make sure that we don’t put any products on your brows that will irritate them and affect healing. Many products have harmful chemicals in them that will cause your new brows to sting or even alter the chemical composition of the fresh pigment in your skin.
Don’t get your brows wet for the next 10 days!
Besides washing your brows outside of the shower, do not get them wet! So no lakes, streams, oceans, pools, ponds, or even shower water! Do your best! When washing your hair in the shower try to angle your head backwards to avoid getting water on them! And be very careful that your shampoo and conditioner doesn’t drip down into them! We do this to again, prevent bacterial contamination, and also aid in the healing properly.
No Sweating for 10 days!
Guys this is crucial! Sweating will push out your pigment, not only could that cause your stokes to heal patchy, but it could also completely push out other strokes! Sweating can also make your brows heal an appealing color- it cools the pigment off making it heal grey. This is very hard to correct for and once it happens we will constantly be trying to fix it costing you more money and time in the long run!
Don’t pick or scratch your brows!
This so so hard but don’t do it! Even if you feel like a flake is hanging in your brow hairs! Leave it alone! If they feel super itchy, apply a little extra balm to try to help!
The DON’TS!
Do not use any Retin-A, Glycolic Acids, Peroxides, Neosporin wile healing.
For the life of your brows avoid any products with retinols, glycolic acids, chemical or physical exfoliants or any harsh facial products. These products will break down your skin and can turn the color of the pigment grey. Once they turn grey it is very hard to fix.
Do not sunbath in the tanning bed without properly covering your brows for the life of your brows. And even in regular sun conditions do not forget sunscreen.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF COLOR!
THE DO’S!
Do enjoy your brows
Do take super cute selfies and tag @immortalbeautyllc
Do schedule your 6-10 week touch up appointment to achieve the full desired results!
Do text message or email me with any questions, comments or concerns!
What to Expect After Microbading Procedure:
Slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness for one or two days following the procedure
It is normal to lose approximately 1/3 of the color during the healing process
Right after the procedure, the color may be too dark, during healing your brows may look patchy and like you lost color, don’t worry! The color will start coming back in the following weeks as the color starts to emerge to the epidermis(outermost layer of your skin), if the color is not dark enough at the 6 week point, we can always go darker at your touch up appointment!
Please be patient. Healing can take up to 6 weeks. On your next appointment more hair strokes can be added to make them perfect.
